It's the most wonderful time of the year
With the kids jingle belling
And everyone telling you
"Be of good cheer"

and ribboned bags of sweets
like sugared almonds

or other bonbons. 

After 1865 branches of trees were

 occasionally adorned with glass

 trinkets and silver wire ornaments

a tradition that followed their

German origin where many were obtained

I'll be home for Christmas

Please have snow and mistle toe
And presents under the tree
